RICHARD
SCHUMACHER
A conductor active
all over the world, has directed The Masterplayers, a chamber orchestra composed
of leading solo players, since 1954. A heavy touring
schedule, as well as recordings for several labels brought Schumacher world-wide
acclaim. As guest conductor, Maestro Schumacher has
appeared with distinguished orchestras in
Europe, America
and Australia. With his book "The Charisma of the Baton" and since 1981
Schumacher has been explaining his conducting art in
masterclasses in Amsterdam, Berlin, Munich, Vienna, Graz, Paris, Firenze, Roma,
Ljubliana, Szombately, New York
and San Francisco.
As word spread of his impressive results, many of his students have won First
Prize in various competitions, including Toscanini Prize
Parma, Ma1ko Prize Denmark, Fricsay Prize Berlm and Masterplayers Prize in
Berlin
and Lugano. Schumacber is founder of the Masterplayers
International Music Competition, The Masterplayers International Music Academy
Corporation, The Masterplayers International Music Festival, Festival
del
Mondo
Antico and the orchestra The Masterplayers. He served as the
Artistic Director of International Music Festivals in
Berlin (Schauspielhaus) Orvieto

and Vilanova y Geltru (Spain).

ADMISSION
Certificates of
acquired diplomas (photostat), information about education, practica1 training,
public appearances, two portrait photos min. 9x12 cm. and
a videotape should be enclosed with the application. The
video should contain a performance by the competitor. Any system of recording is
acceptable. The performance time should be kept between
30 to 60 minutes.
No age limit.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to make prior arrangements in
the areas of copyright. The Masterplayers International
Music Academy Corporation guarantees that the video is only for the use
of the Competition and will not be used for any other purpose. Please
note that the video will not be returned.
